Automobiles in Germany's Town Discovered Covered with Swastikas in Blood, Law Enforcement State

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Police mentioned they were alerted by a man who found a car in Hanau covered with red-colored liquid

Around fifty vehicles have been marked with what seems to be human blood in the German city of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm authorities.

Cars, building surfaces and postal boxes were vandalized, occasionally with swastikas, they reported in a official communication.

Law enforcement report they were notified during the night on Wednesday evening, when a resident observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a reddish fluid.

The liquid had been placed in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they reported.

Officers then found many other vandalized cars and building exteriors in the surrounding area.

Swastikas are illegal in Germany under laws prohibiting the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.

Police report early analysis show the liquid was likely blood from a person.

"Currently there is no clue as to its origin; authorities are not yet informed of any physical harm in association with the event," they stated.

City officials stated they were attempting "to resolve the incident" and have requested to the community for information.

An important representative stated the incident rendered him without words and had to be addressed promptly.

"This event strikes at the core of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the right-wing terrorist attack half a decade ago," he posted on online, mentioning the murder of nine people by a gunman targeting individuals of immigrant origin in 2020.
